I was a new patient and got to the office on time. However, the receptionist was entering the pets previous records and we missed our original appointment time. Then we had to come back later in the day which was inconvenient as I had to bring a dog, cat and toddler in by myself. It would have been easier to have the receptionist check us in and record the data while we waited to be seen.

I am very pleased with the care of my pet, and the receptionists did great work scheduling an appointment and providing information and being polite despite the heavy traffic late in the day. I appreciated the detailed bill and the chance to accept/deny optional charges. The vet and techs were outstanding. Is there any way the crush of patients and their checkout can be a little less overwhelming? I am not sure. Really appreciate the great care from Dr. Walker!

I always have a very positive exprience with all of your staff from the people (Shelley and Sandy in particular) at the front desk to the lab techs. to Dr. Gil and Dr. Murray. You are often very busy but at the very least I am acknowledge immediately and more often than not seen very quickly. I am dealing with an elderly cat with a terminal condition and appreciate the genuine compassion all of the staff have shown me and the care both of my cats are given. During this time dealing with my older cat, I often call with questions. Dr. Murray is very responsive to my calls and extremely patient with my questions and at times my tears. My cats have seen Dr. Gil since she was on 3rd Street. I greatly appreciate the care they have gotten from her. I love Gem City Vets.

I would like to tell the doctor my concerns instead of having the vet tech listen to me and discuss my concerns with the doctor out back. I feel like I am not able to communicate with the doctor and that what I say must be so unintelligible that the vet tech must translate for me. I certainly don t know if the doctor understands completely my concerns. I can not believe that my meeting with the vet tech first, then a whispered discussion out back with the doctor and then the doctor coming in to the exam room saves any time. I understand the vet tech takes the vitals of the dog but I believe the doctor should be the first person to listen to my concerns because my words may give the doctor a clue to the diagnosis that the interpretation of my words by the vet tech does not.

I am more than happy with the vets at Gem City, but this is the third time that I have had to wait a very long time to pay and get out of the clinic after the appointment. I m often ignored and while it seems like a lot of people are there, not one of them want to take my money. This last time, I was clearly waiting to pay, and the person on the front desk ignored me and helped someone who came in after I did. I wish the customer service was a good as the vets service.

I want to start by saying that I truly value the people at Gem City Vet and the way they care for my animals and the compassion that they show them. However, on this particular visit, I feel that some things could ve been improved. When I brought my rabbits back to get their nails clipped, it appeared that the scheduling staff had not informed the vet that she would be clipping rabbit nails. She said, Oh, rabbits. I didn t know they d be rabbits. That lack of communication and attention to detail was disappointing. Then, during the nail clipping, the vet cut the quick of my rabbit, which was very distressing for my pet and myself, and there was no apology. I felt very helpless and also sad that the vet did not take the opportunity to discuss what had happened with me. Lastly, I chose N/A for the billing, because the billing procedure was not discussed with me. Thank you for allowing me the chance to provide feedback. This experience was upsetting, and I wanted to tell GCV, but didn t want to offend anyone.

I did not wait long in the waiting room yet waited over a half hour in the treatment room. That seemed unreasonably and frustratingly long. Then, every time the tech or vet left the room, it was a long wait for their return.

I am always impressed with the staff and enjoy our visits each time. I am a fan of being able to book and confirm appointments online, however this last go-around the appointment time I jotted down (made via phone) was 3:50pm, and the email reminder I got noted 3:50 as well, but when I got in at 3:45, I was told that I was late and that my appointment was at 3:40. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it might be worth making sure the systems are talking to each other properly so that I don t goof up the schedule!
