We suggest being more transparent that a wellness exam will occur on top of checking out an issue I.e. the cut on the cat’s face, as this was an unexpected additional cost. Thank you!

On exiting the examination room at Bloor West Village Animal Hospital with my pet, when our appointment is done, my thoughts turn to Robert Redford, in ‘the horse whisperer’. Observing how Dr. O’Toole, and my pet relate to one another, he appears to be a pet whisperer. His deeper understanding of, and caring for, my pet, resonates a vibe that leaves me feeling grateful that Dr. O’Toole is in our lives.

Staff was friendly but not that helpful in explaining why the the vet suggested that the one urine sample I paid for should maybe be done again for further analysis. I was not happy at having to pay $350 for an antibiotic prescription. If they had told me the urine analysis had to be followed by a physical exam I might have forgone tne urine sample altogether.

The cost of the lab procedures was not revealed to me until I went to pay the bill, which was an unpleasant surprise. I anticipate more charges with follow-up procedures (e.g., blood pressure re-test), which I thing could be included as part of the initial assessment.

My mother took our family dog here for years and loved the facility and Dr. O’Toole has always been very helpful and caring. Recently brought my dog Clifford in when I couldn’t get him in anywhere else and got him in same day. Staff are very friendly and helpful and care about the animals and their care. He is now on the mend and doing better. Thank you to everyone for all the help!
