Best experience I’ve ever had with a vet. I love not feeling rushed. Dr. Bailey really took her time explaining things and genuinely cares. Because of that I wouldn’t go anywhere else and I highly recommend your clinic to any animal parent I know.

I can’t say enough good things about Barfield Animal Hospital and everyone there. They are truly amazing and they love what they do. They took great care of our fur babies while being boarded and went above and beyond when one of them needed medical attention. Thank you!

My survey comments are mainly in regard to Employees approaching and interacting with identified assistant service dogs patients. ADI Certified Assistant service dog s behaviors are trained to not solicit attention from the public. Always. As a handler, I recognize that most of the public is not educated on etiquette regarding interactions with a Assistance service dog. As my MSD is a long term patient, It would be beneficial to our team if Barfield Veterinary Animal Hospital employees could better accommodate by informing and educating workers upon appropriate service dog interaction guidelines. Example: Employees should never directly approach the service dog to talk at or to pet the k9 without permission from the handler. 1) Approaching to pet or to talk to the k9 directly: This action creates a situation where a trained k9 will be expecting corrective behavior if it does solicit attention while working. Additionally, the action will increase anxiety in the animal if it is feeling unwell or stressed due to receiving medical treatment. 2)Service dogs have restricted diets. Employees should never attempt to give SDs treats without approval from their handler. Accepting food from a stranger, without proper command, can undo a service dogs training if repeated, over the course of time. SDs receive hundreds of hours in training learning to refuse dropped food, retrieve food and medicines for its disabled handled, and learn to patiently wait under a table at a restaurant. The occurances of employees, although well intentioned and very kind, interacting with my MSD have been minimal. However there are a few employees which continue, after a correction, to rush up to my working service dog to touch and talk at him out of excitement to greet. In large part- to continue googling in my service Dog s face- scares the beegeebies out of him as he is trying very hard to concentrate on accomplishing each command his is issued during the course of his work day. Our team greatly appreciates the Barfield staff s friendship and accommodations that is needed when providing care to a service dog patient. As some people save live, some dogs save people- By noting the handling differences in providing treatment to a trained service dog vs a pet, it is the best compliment that our team care recieve. Thank you for your part in upholding public safety standards and promoting the longevity of the great work our k9 pals do! Thank you also, for your continued part in caring for our community members through your work and services.

As always, the team at Barfield Animal Hospital was absolutely fantastic. I had an emergency with a feral cat; they did not hesitate to provide the utmost in care AND options for long-term care.

Dr Bailey was wonderful and the overall experience great . The only thing I do not appreciate is being charged over $18 for a nail trim .
