I love your clinic! My only feedback would be that I don t get much response by e-mail. I ll receive an e-mail inviting questions, but when I respond, or just send an e-mail, I don t hear back. Otherwise, I love everything about Kindness!

I brought my dog, Juliet, to your office on Monday after two episodes over the weekend that I would later learn were syncope (more on that later). The first vet who saw her was Bob Odenheimer (sp?). When he first called me to discuss her case, he was totally unprepared, stumbled over his words and asked for information that I had given at intake. He even said ‘I should have read this chart first’. He asked if I’d ever had a chest x ray done and I said yes, at YOUR clinic, a month ago! He then apologized and said he wanted to ‘really study’ the charts and would call me again. When spoke again in the afternoon, he rambled and talked around a lot of subjects. All I understood was “enlarged heart” and that he was giving me a prescription that would make her urinate frequently. He speculated out loud about steroids. When I picked her up, I was given two prescriptions and again, told nothing about them other than they would make her urinate frequently. A vet tech came out (older man with a white beard, said he works part time) and said his dogs were on this medication and had been for years, it would be okay. He also said to email with concerns instead of call, as the office was often busy. On Tuesday I emailed to say her symptoms were not improving (in response to an email YOUR OFFICE sent ME asking how she was) No answer. On Wednesday I emailed again, this time really annoyed at the lack of response. Then I finally called on Wednesday to demand someone talk to me. Was she supposed to be showing signs of improvement yet? Nobody told me what was supposed to happen with these meds other than peeing a lot. The vet I spoke to on Wednesday (forgot his name, maybe Jason something?) said I could bring her back in since she wasn’t improving. When I brought her back on Wednesday, they had only examined her briefly before I was asked to come inside and put in a room with a sofa. I realized pretty quickly that this was the room you put people in to tell them their animals are dying or dead. The vet came in and showed me x rays – and frankly seemed more intent on proving that there was no visible heart damage on September when you took the first x ray than he was on explaining what was happening now. He showed me how much the heart had enlarged since just Monday and that she was operating on limited lung capacity. I asked for a referral for someone to euthanize her at home. If I had not – I do not think your doctor would have volunteered any information on euthanasia. I think I would have been sent home to watch her die horribly, drowning in her own fluids I do not blame your office for my dog’s death, but I absolutely hold you responsible for making this terrible situation worse by being unprepared when Dr. Bob first called me, inadequately explaining her condition, not responding to my emails, and finally not being direct and honest with me so that I could make the right decisions for her end of life care. I made the right decision in spite of you, not with your help. Dr. Rebecca Westbrook, who performed the euthanasia in our home, was the one who explained that her episodes had been syncope, and what that meant, and how her condition could have progressed so rapidly. I guess I can thank you for referring me to her, but that’s the only thing I can give you credit for. I hope you don t dismiss me as simply someone lashing out because their dog died and really consider how this case was handled. I have another dog, and I can t imagine a scenario in which I would bring her to your clinic at this point.

We love the care and attention Dr Newman gives to not only our pet but to is too. The follow up after the surgery was outstanding keeping us inform. Even once we brought our pet home they have checked in the recovery process daily. We are very grateful for the care and great work they have done for all our pets over the years.

This is by far the best Animal Hospital that I have been to yet the staff is very polite and very caring my dog had to have emergency surgery and the doctor and the staff and the office manager were so polite they care about your pets not just the money. I would recommend this Animal Hospital and give it five stars plus.

I appreciate so much that Dr. Nieman was so good to Dweezil, dropping everything to get her little tear back into gear. This is totally unrelated, but figured I should give you a heads-up: the old office address for Kindness (up at Renner?) is still listed in the Home Again microchip system. When I was getting Jakes files updated, I had to go to the kindness website to make sure I was choosing the correct location.
