Professionally speaking I believe I should have been redirected to VERC at 8am when I called and said my birthing dog was in distress - especially, after having to wait 6 hours to be seen then after $120 sent to ER.

Toby s ears are in great shape for the first time in over a year, and it s been a few weeks since he got off his meds. It makes me so happy. Thank you so much! You guys are the best vet I ve been to in Honolulu area!

No discussion with vet or assistant on dog health status. Dog disappeare to back room and returned. I had to ask assistant and felt rushed. Communication is very important to me, and got none on followup visit after surgery. I suppose I am to assume dog is fine and nothing more needed. ???!!!!

Hello, I was going to all the office to let you know about my experience with Dr. Miliaresis as I was very disappointed with our first puppy visit. I feel as if I might have offended or irritated her when I disagreed with her advice about getting my dog spayed at 6 months and wanting to wait until she was 1 year old. I understand doctors and owners can disagree at times, however when they do owners should feel safe to have a thorough and informative discussion with their vets. Vets should be open to hearing owners out, and educating and providing valuable information, rather than being curt and saying well that s just what I would do . After I expressed my opinion things got awkward. When they placed the puppy on the exam table to begin, I stood up to watch and she tells me I could sit back down, which I thought was odd and very off putting. She didn t seem to have any interest in giving me advice regarding a new puppy. When I expressed concern about the puppy being thin compared to the litter mates and not eating as well she didn t offer any comments, suggestions, reassurances, or advice. She didn t even bother to take the puppy s weight to track later. Something I didn t even realize to ask until another owner mentioned to me. I was also surprised she didn t know what brand of food Purina Pro Plan was. I don t know how much more mainstream you can get than Purina. She mentioned the puppy s paws turning out and how that wasn t normal but gave me no other information other than it could be due to growing and she might grow out of it. I had to come home to look it up online and was surprised to learn there was so much information about what it was, potential causes, what to watch out for, etc. I thought why am I having to read this on the internet on my own when I just paid $65 for a puppy visit with a vet who could have had that discussion with me had she taken the time. After reading the great reviews online for Surf Paws I was really surprised at how my own visit went. As mentioned, maybe I offended her. I m sure she hears lots of crazy opinions from pet owners who get things off the internet. However, wether it comes to my own health or my puppy s I want to be informed and need a doctor who is not so prideful that she can have a discussion with me about differing opinions. I m not one to go online and leave bad reviews as a small business owner myself. So I appreciate this survey to be able to leave a comment about how my experience went. Thank you.
