The young woman who brought our dog out to us when I arrived for pickup, was quite abrupt as she told me not to touch the yellow leash when I tried to help. Could have done without that attitude quite frankly, as long as I’m being asked. My puppy was in pain - I just spent $1200 - I don’t need to be told not to touch a leash when I try to help get the dog into the car.

I found McGilvray Veterinary Hospital to be well organized during this difficult time. Also, I am so glad Denyse introduced me to the Hospital and Dr. Owen. I know my Mickey is well taken care of and I thank everyone for making it a very friendly atmosphere.

Thank you for your amazing, wonderful service! I have known Dr Olijnyk personally for many years, but this was my first time seeing her in action in a professional context, and she did a fantastic job making sure my cat Drogo was ok after an accidental Advil ingestion scare. Everyone else I interacted with at the clinic had the same friendly, kind and cheerful personality, which is exactly what you need in a moment of stress. I am so grateful for the clinic making room to see Drogo on an urgent basis, and he received first rate care. I could not have had a better experience, and I will be back with both my pets (cats Mallow and Drogo) in the future! It was night and day comparing my former clinic with McGilvary, and it made the decision to make the switch very easy (despite a much further drive from home). Thanks for all you do!

A while back I would receive a call the day after my pet had surgery to make sure all was fine. It seems that with Covid, this is no longer part of the process. I had to weight myself whether the pain my dog was experiencing was acceptable or whether I should be calling to ask for additional pain meds. I am quite able to call and ask, but there may be those in the community who don t want to bother or trouble their vet and not call, which means the pet is in pain needing more meds, or worse case scenario, need emergency treatment. I will say, once I waited long enough to know for certain that my dog wasn t going to feel better in the short term and made the call, the service was quick.
