The whole appointment took over an hour between arriving before the appointment time, to waiting half an hour for a staff member to get my dog, and then waiting for my dog to be evaluated. I think the facility could be more mindful to staying on time or if running behind to be courteous and update their clients they are running behind instead of just waiting.

Dr. Garcia needs to keep his mask on and observe proper distancing. It was very concerning that he did neither when talking to me outside. I could have said something; but it happened so quickly that I could not respond. The hand off between the intake and Dr. Garcia following up with not very good either. There needs to be more coordination so we get our questions answered. I realize it is partly the situation; but it reflects a more systematic problem at Reston Animal Hospital where we always have a different vet attend to our pet ...and there is no opportunity to gain any confidence in one vet who attends to her. Questions about diet and such produces different answers from different vets and as such, confidence is lost. We have had over 10 pets during our marriage of 30 years and have never had this problem before. This is the first pet we have brought to Reston Animal Hospital and we are starting to look elsewhere.

The visit was quick & efficient. The doctor came out to my car to discuss my dog s exam. The technician who took care of my dog was excellent- my dog is very timid, but the technician was able to examine her teeth without a problem. The best vet practice in Fairfax County!

(I responded NA to all of the above because I was having trouble clicking on the stars). We had our dog Cooley in to have an abscessed tooth pulled on 2/11/21. Here are my comments: 1) I m really satisfied with the people at the Reston Animal Hospital. Everyone seems caring. Particular shout out to Kimmy for loving Cooley and we have had several very good experiences dealing with Dr. Garcia in the past, he has been great. I didn t meet the doctor who did Cooley s surgery but spoke to her on the phone and was happy with everything she did. It is now 2 days post-surgery and it seems like he is recovering just fine. 2) The cost seemed high for a single tooth extraction, about $1,500 total, even after a 10% discount for some of it. I had previously asked for a cost estimate but we didn t get one till I dropped him off for surgery. (although we would still have done it even had we known the cost earlier). I m not an expert in dog dental costs but it was kind of on the high side. But thank you to the staff there, and we are happy to know they care about Cooley. I like the RAH.

Scheduled an appointment to have an eye stye removed, had the appt and was charged $90 to be told yes we can t do that, but it s likely not cancerous. Probably after several years I m not making the long drive again. Very disappointed, feel like I was stolen from.

Technician Kim was able to handle our Mastiff with ease when many others are not. She was also excellent in dealing with our aging Labrador and saved him from unnecessarily having to get out of the car by trimming his nails in the car. Many thanks to her and your whole team!
