Under these dreadful conditions, the River Trail team worked well. I was skeptical when I first arrived but staff worked as if our vehicles were the office and I was able to speak to everyone necessary. In hindsight, I think the less movement of my cat may have been a more calm experience than normal for him, and I was the panicky one.

To the question #1 It is easy to be seen if you will take just any vet they have. I have only 1 vet. I have had that vet for over 25 years. It is not easy by any means to get to see the vet of my choice. #2. There is always a longer waiting time than most places. To me, my vet is worth the wait. My vet takes time with his patients and he also takes the time I need with me. You just prepare for it and know it will happen. To me, my vet is worth the wait. Yes, my vet is that good and cares.

First time receiving vet services at RiverTrail for our 6 yo pup, Finn. Pleased overall with the process considering the current circumstances we’re all in. However, the first person who greeted us was not wearing a mask. Would have felt much better had she worn one like the other two individuals did. Thank you for taking care of Finn.

We were originally referred to RTAH because one of our dogs developed some aggression issues. The same procedure to get the dog in the back has been used each time: she and I go into a waiting room and I hand the leash through the door to a vet tech. This was the procedure that RTAH gave us the first time. I understand that with the current health precautions some normal ways of doing things get lost in the shuffle a bit. However, when I first called to make the appointment I explained that the vet tech would not be able to come get the dog from the car but that we d have to use the same procedure as before. When I showed up to let them know we had arrived, I had to explain the whole thing again. When I got inside to a room, I had to explain it again when the vet tech came in. This was pretty frustrating - especially since the reason we use RTAH is because of a referral regarding handling these exact type of situations. I had another issue which was not clarified. I ll probably be calling in today to find out about it. My first call last week was to see if we could get medication to apply to our dog s ear for a yeast infection. She had one in November 2017 that progressed from that medication to getting her ears packed. After the person on the phone consulted with the vet, I was told that the dog needed to come in as it had been too long and the vet needed to test the stuff in the dog s ear. Well, that s unfortunate since the dog has to be sedated to be examined, but at least I can get on board. Unfortunately, the issue progressed before we could get her in and it resulted in having to get the ear packed again. Only after I got home did I see that the notation on the documents said the dog was treated for a bacterial infection - not yeast. I tried calling but the office for clarification but it was closed. I reached out on Messenger since it said responses were quick there. I got an immediate auto-response but nothing in the three days since. Just not the greatest experience. I could chalk it up to having to adjust for these health precautions, but I haven t had as much trouble with the vet I use for my four other animals.
