The Pet Doctor is a wonderful place. I have been taking my sweet little ones there for years. Friendly faces, fast services and they always address any issues and explain the treatment plan and how much it will cost. No surprises.

Not happy about dropping Max off and wait for a call to pick up. I now live in Wylie and it’s too far to go back home to wait. It’s too hot now and what do I do in the meantime? I would hate to have to look for another vet.

Good experience except for one thing. I was told new patients would receive a $1 exam fee for the first visit but I was charged full price at the actual appointment.

I scheduled an appointment for allergy testing. No one asked me any questions about my dogs food or anything really related to allergies. The vet called me and suggested we do an ear and skin scrape instead of full testing which would save money and full testing might not be necessary. My dog had an ear infection but no mites. He was sent home with different flea and tick preventative even though there was no evidence of bugs. He’s on an antibiotic for his ears. But nothing was done about the itching or what is causing the yeast in his ears. The steroid shot he was given stopped the itching temporarily. But two days later he’s itchy again and I ended up paying almost as much as I would have for allergy testing but I still don’t know what he’s allergic to.

The doctor offered no good explanation as to why most of the tests were needed. Still waiting for a call back 2 days later.

COVID is controlled, is the VET not going to visit the client with their pet? We left our pet until the VET had time, not been able to visit. That was acceptable in COVID times but now I do not like that type of services. Let me know if that will change

I am in town for about a month, I actually am a Vet Tech where I live. I have extremely high expectations of pet care because we give the upmost care to our clients. I also coke from a Fear Free Clinic and I, myself, am free fear certified. A couple things, I scheduled my dogs new patient appointment for cytopoint. When I scheduled the appointment I was not made aware that all doctors appointments are drop offs. I was under the impression that it was a normal appointment, once the technician grabbed my dog, about 8 minutes later I was told it’s a drop off I can leave. My dog is super friendly but gets very nervous at the vet, if he was sick I would maybe feel differently. However, all he needed was cytopoint. On his intake form I notated that his ears are red but that’s normal with allergies. The doctor was able to get me in as an appointment because again, it was just cytopoint. Because I said I would just take my dog because I didn’t want to leave him for an extended period. When I got in the room, I feel like I didn’t get a proper introduction from the doctor. It was a hi this is what i did, cytopoint, bye. The doctor did a ear cytology without my permission, found occasional yeast & cocci both ears. That’s how it was said to me - if I was not a technician, I would’ve sId what the heck does that even mean? I was a little disappointed in those things, I probably won’t be back because of f it either.

The appointment was at 1 for drop off. She wasn t ready until 4:45 just a quick exam. Ready to go back to in person appointments or will be going elsewhere.
