I was thrilled to be able to get my dogs into the clinic as new patients and even more thrilled with the customer service shown by the entire staff. The Dr was incredibly attentive and thorough in helping assess my senior doggo.

Covid has made regular business difficult for everyone. My appointment was scheduled at 1:30 pm but it was a very frustrating time to have my appointment because of the scheduled lunch hour! I could not let staff know that I was waiting until exactly 1:30 pm.. When I was able to call in I was put on hold for more than 15 minutes. The phones put you on hold and then after some amount of time they ring again.. This happened to me 3 separate times and the 3rd time I was asked to hold I quickly let the staff member know that I was just waiting for my appointment. Because I had arrived to the appointment a few minutes early (as most offices request this) our total wait time was around 45 minutes.. This normally would be no issuse but my cat really stresses out in the car - she was in distress the entire time. My cat does very poorly in the car.. She usually urinates and poops out of fear/anxiety while in the car. This time she did not, but she was loudly meowing in distress the entire time we were driving and waiting. She was also scratching the sides of the carrier so hard that a couple of her claws were damaged and bleeding by the time we got home. I understand that she may have seemed fine while in the office - she usually does! It s the car that causes her distress. I asked the office staff to have the vet call to discuss options for our next appointment, as I feel the Gabapentin is not effective enough. Instead of calling, the vet emailed me stating that Dezi seemed fine. It s really frustrating that I didn t have the opportunity to advocate for my kitty by talking to the vet. I really need that dialog so I can understand what is going on with my pets. Perhaps the vet has reasons why they believe Dezi was fine - I am completely okay with that! But I need to know what those reasons are through conversation - not through a one way email! Scheduling a time to call or video conference pet parents would be very helpful. I feel in the dark and anxious about most things that happened during her visit. I have been with Eugene Animal Hospital for years and I have never had such a negative experience. I have continued to go to the clinic because I like it and have had so many good experiences. I have no doubts that this situation happened because of the limitations we face from the virus. I hope that there are some changes that can be made in the future to prevent this type of thing from happening.. I just want to be clear that I am not angry or blaming the staff.. It was a frustrating and stressful situation for Dezi and I but we all have off days and I appreciate everything you do for our community.

When I made the appointment I made sure to tell them special information which didn t seem to make it into your system. When I called a second time I was made to feel like I was a problem. This is not normal for your facility.

The vets make comments about pets’ appearances you wouldn’t or shouldn’t about someone’s kids. For instance saying my dog looked like he got dropped on his head or saying my cat has a “slight” build. Just food for thought.
